11:14 pm Egypt, Alexandria
Egypt is a forward thinking country when it comes to internet access. Free for all! Including me. Well, not exactly free. But available. Wireless in my hotel room in Alexandria. Woohoo! Awesome time for my voltage converter to go on the fritz.
Since the last entry, we made a couple more stops on our very long voyage to A. Stopped at the monastery, very interesting. Then at the site where the Rosetta Stone was found. The fort was actually closed, but some paper persuasion got the guards to open up the gates for us. Very interesting and all, but my favorite was meeting the little kids playing around the fort.
Arrived at the hotel at about 7:15pm, just in time for our 7:30 dinner. My hotel room is a vast improvement over last night, despite being much smaller. Little balcony on the 6th floor overlooks the beaches and the Mediterranean Sea along the Corniche, sort of like Alexandria's version of the Riviera.
It is now past 11, and though we have a 7am wake up call (it's been 5:30 for the past two days), I need to get some sleep.
