Food Oops

Well, I’m a dipshit who went and broke cardinal rule #2 on her first day in Egypt. DO NOT EAT THE HAPPY FRESH VEGGIES. My disdain for disappointing people beat out common sense; let’s just hope Ms. Cucumber and Mr. Tummy get along. Being a vegetarian in a foreign country is difficult, I understand this. I am fine with eating breadsticks. That’s why I have peanut butter. But then they brought out this lovely salad of cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, and peppers, and I didn’t want the kind and attentive waiters to think I didn’t like it or appreciate the effort. So I ate the peeled cucumbers. Perhaps my stomach will be that much stronger because of it. Perhaps. I’m not a person of faith, so pre-emptive Pepto it is.

Oh, and that evening housekeeper? Out there now spot cleaning the hallway rug like nobody’s business. Bowed and said, good evening madame, when I walked by.
